

Vogue Retail Therapy Puzzle
The term “retail therapy” might not have been a buzzword in 1932, but the concept certainly existed—as evidenced by the colorful cover created by Georges Lepape for the all-important Spring Shopping issue. The artist drew a woman, clad in green, surrounded by candy-colored string-tied boxes that rise around her like the New York skyscrapers that so impressed this Frenchman when he first visited the city in 1926.
